1988

First Native Awareness Week

In March 1988, McGill’s Native Affairs Committee, a student-led organization, hosted the first Native Awareness Week at McGill. The First Peoples House, an Indigenous-led campus organization, relaunched the event in 2011 as Indigenous Awareness Week in collaboration with McGill’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion office.
