McGill Food Quality and Safety Program

Following a generous donation in 2011 from McGill alumnus Dr. Ian C. Munro, BScAgr’62, MSc’67 and his wife Jane Munro, the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences launched the McGill Food Safety and Quality Program (FSQP). 

The FSQP conducts collaborative research with industry and government, trains students and provides independent expertise. Working with partners across the Canadian Food Industry, its research is centred on pioneering new foods and animal feeds and helping to keep Canadians’ food safe.
