Sweating for a Healthy Smile

June 26, 2022

The mobile outreach clinic is a clinic led by dentists and dental students to provide free healthcare to vulnerable populations. Each summer the clinic sees approximately 300 patients and covers treatments such as cleanings, fillings and extractions. As first-year dental students, we have already been made aware of the many inequities that exist in our healthcare system. We realize how much of a privilege dental care is. We would like to do our part to ensure that individuals of all demographic and financial backgrounds can receive the care they need. We are passionate about community-based dentistry, and we hope this event will have a direct impact on the many communities we serve. This is something we see developing into a yearly event that we can continue throughout the rest of our careers.

With your support, we can raise funds for the outreach clinic through both our Crowdfunding campaign and an fun, energizing exercise event: Sweating for a Health Smile! This event will include an introduction where participants learn about the outreach clinic and what it provides, followed by a 45-minute circuit style exercise class lead by professional trainers.

You can support our cause by simply directly donating on this page OR by purchasing a ticket to our event held in June.
