Professor Madeleine Buck’s teaching areas include acute and chronic illness management, symptom management, development of clinical assessment, clinical reasoning skills and global health. As the B.Sc.(N). Program Director for over 30 years, she was involved in program development and evaluation, student assessment, and teaching.

At a national level, she has been active in the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) as co-chair of the Advisory Committee on Accreditation Policies. At an international level, alongside teaching in Israel and Bangladesh, Professor Buck is chair of the McGill Nurses for Highlands Hope, where she works with a group of nurses and community volunteers to address the challenge of HIV/AIDS and other related social problems in the Njombe region of the Southern Highlands of Tanzania.

Madeleine Buck has been teaching Nursing at McGill for over 35 years, and her dedication, commitment, vision and generosity leaves an indelible impact on the students, faculty and community she passionately serves.
