Dr. Fraser is a pillar of the Department of Pathology at McGill. An encyclopedia of knowledge on pathology, particularly of the lungs as reflected in the textbooks that bear his name, Dr. Fraser remains active medically (diagnosing patients) and academically (as Director of the Maude Abbott Medical Museum at the University). Despite his breadth and depth of information and experience, he remains a student of life, full of curiosity and love of learning. His modest demeanor masks the footsteps that he has marked while excelling as a pathologist and historian. Isaac Newton once said, ““If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants”. For clinicians, pathologists, and medical historians alike, Dr. Fraser’s shoulders have helped support progress in a variety medical and historical endeavors.
