McGill’s first Indigenous student, George Edward Bomberry (Kanyen’kehàka, Six Nations), graduated with an MD in 1875.
Little is known about him, besides his attendance of an 1874 meeting of the Sarnia Reserve Grand Council. Tragically, Bomberry died just a few years after graduating from McGill.
