The Islamic Society of Montreal began holding events and providing prayer spaces for Muslim students at McGill in 1953.
The group was eventually replaced by McGill’s Muslim Student Association (MSA). The MSA advocates on behalf of Muslim students, helps to build a sense of community among Muslims on campus, and offers a range of services including a student-run library, prayer spaces, religious gatherings and an MSA annual frosh.
